Animal Spirit Guide Oracle Card Readings Written by and with all rights reserved to R. S. Renfro
In today's world and with all its confusion, people want answers. They want to know that what they are doing is in their Divine Purpose, or if not, how they can shift their course of action, or lack thereof, to be in harmony with it. Some people wish to know if whom they are with is the right person for them. Others wish to validate their jobs or would like to learn of the possibilities before them. There is a need for healing of all sorts. No matter the questions, there is always help from our spirit animal brethren. Put your ego aside for a moment, and let us investigate what and how our animal spirit guides contribute to our well-being through Oracle Card Readings. Let us learn and unlearn. Let us find comfort in the loving arms of Spirit and Spirit's helpers.
Great Spirit, please grace us with abundant blessings, those which will in turn filter down to be blessings to others. May your wisdom and guidance prevail over our egos, letting us live, love, and grow. Thank you, Spirit, for your patience, love, and unceasing kindness. Thank you for providing us the tools necessary to receive your love through your helpers. All my relations.
In indigenous cultures around the world shamans live and breathe in the nonordinary reality as much as they do in the ordinary reality. When a villager comes to a shaman, it us usually out of need for some type of healing, direction, and/or guidance. Because the shaman must be able to transcend the borders of these two realities with ease as well as call on their spirit helpers to assist them in performing these duties-- and more often than not, several different levels of the “spirit world” are present in their practices-- they must undergo a long, intensive training program. Once they have become a shaman, they are servants to their people, being a bridge of worlds, of sorts. Many shamans and medicine men have sacred bundles, ones which contain, for example, Eagle's talon, a sacred shell, and/or sacred herbs which sometimes the shaman alone knows the identity of and uses for. They will practice divination with these sacred items. In some cultures, shamans and elders read the patterns and markings on animal entrails, decipher them, and therefore attain the guidance they desire. In our culture, shamanism is quickly becoming more and more accepted and its wisdom sought, but for most of our purposes, these types of divination do not suit for a multitude of reasons. We do, however, have the descendant of such divination tools- Oracle Cards. In the same way that a shaman might “shake and roll” the items of his sacred bundle or his medicine pouch, we can ask for and receive guidance through pulling Oracle Cards. The answers we seek remain from our spirit guides, remain from Spirit. The divination used with Oracle Cards quite easily makes these cards our “bridge of worlds,” one which we can access quite easily. With a little practice and experience, we can attain spiritual guidance for ourselves and for others by using them.
In this month's edition, I will treat its readers as a group, as a collective One, as One that has come to me for an Oracle Card Reading. The deck I will use this time is Dr. Steven D. Farmer's “Messages From Your Animal Spirit Guides Oracle Cards.” I will meditate, I will shuffle the deck, and I will pull however many cards I feel guided to. I will name the specific card at the beginning, including what message is present on the physical card itself. I will then begin to dissect that which is opened to me, through me, and relay that to you, the readers, the collective One, card by card. I will include a picture of each card at the beginning of each of the animal spirit guide's messages for you so that you may experience the reading as much as possible. Thereby, you will have the capability to notice anything that speaks to you and your being, your well-being. I must ask, however, that you “come to the table” a cleansed being, hands washed and ready to feast on a spiritual meal. I ask that you come balanced and peaceful. We can sometimes find ourselves without such privileges, paving the way for our path toward enlightenment, and in this case, attaining an Oracle Card Reading. Do we not seek peace, enlightenment, and purpose? Do we not need help doing so at times? Who better to ask for guidance than those who have the spiritual power and wisdom to assist us in becoming more spiritual beings? If we need our roof fixed, we call the roofers. If we need our vehicle fixed, we take it to the mechanics. We only need ask our animal spirit guides for their help and be open to what it is they wish to impart upon us in order to “fix ourselves,” so to speak, to give us a spiritual “tune-up.” Simply some direction is what we seek at times, yet at other times, we look for more in-depth guidance. Whatever it is that we seek, we must prepare ourselves to seek it and ultimately achieve it. So, once again, please take a few moments to center yourself, re-balance your body, mind, and spirit, and come back to the table a new being. While you quietly prepare yourself for this spiritual guidance, focus on a question that you would like an answer to. Focus on the question while you pray for clarity-of-vision. May our Spiritual Waters flow. May we live, love, and grow...

“Remain vigilant about the current situation: pay attention to signs and omens, and let them dictate your choices”
Now that you have been cleansed, please let what is to follow come easily into your being, and consciously accept it as what it is that you need at this time. Faith in the answers we seek is the leading strength here. When we ask for help, we must accept the help which we are given, even if it doesn't seem to be what we need at the time. The spirit world and its messengers do not abide by our physical sense of time. At their leisure, I must say, at their leisure. The answers that we seek and need can come in a vast variety of forms. I must stress that the seeker shall keep an open mind and pay close attention to anything that is out of the ordinary. Signs and/or omens can be something so simple as your keys being moved from where you left them, or something so complex as an array of animal spirit guides coming to you in succession. Owl may come to your yard one night, possibly urging you to pay attention to such messages, to grab and keep your focus on the next few days' events. Perhaps, the next day, Raccoon will show up on your front porch as you are leaving to go to work, letting you know that you have what it takes to successfully achieve your goals, and that not everything is as it seems. On the third day, you may be visited by Crow, who could be telling you that you are about to realize the goals you are concerned with presently. Maybe, you were going to cut the grass today, but it rained, ruining the chance to mow, but ultimately allowing you the time to meditate peacefully, which then helped you answer some of your questions regarding your finances. If you feel like you need a sign to be given you, please do call on Owl, as he has the ability to see through the darkness of the night. He also can fly with stealth to catch his prey, which you may need to do in order to get that new promotion without risking the chance that someone may sabotage your efforts out of jealousy. If you look to signs and omens while you are going through a tough decision, they can guide you by telling you that you are on the correct path or are straying from it. They can let you know that someone is attempting to deceive you, or that you need a fresh perspective on things. Maybe you're trying to decide on a job offer you were presented with, and that specific business receives a good report on a television show when you turn on the set. Whatever the case may be, we must be ever present in our life, ignoring the habit to set into the mundane levels of consciousness. We assuredly will miss what we are looking for if we put our attentions on auto-pilot. “Remain vigilant about the current situation” tells us that we must stay the course, allow doubt and fear to fall by the way side, and let our higher-self prevail by seeking and accepting the answers that are given to us, no matter how big or how small. We may have to adjust accordingly, but if we are aware of the signs/omens we seek, then we will trod higher ground. When we are receptive to Divine Guidance, we can be sure that whatever nudges we get will be the right ones, and therefore we can become more confident in our everyday lives.
